Second Symbol of the Jesse Tree: Adam & Eve (The Fall)

Second Symbol of the Jesse Tree: Adam & Eve

God created the world...
And it fell.
Adam and Eve (both) sinned and all of creation was tragically fractured--no longer reflecting God's created goodness.

Which is why we need a savior.
Why we need Christ.
Why the birth of Jesus was long-expected and awaited.

"Come, Thou long-expected Jesus, born to set Thy people free;from our fears and sins release us; let us find our rest in Thee."
~Charles Wesley

Discussion: The snake tempted Adam and Eve with fruit that God told them not to eat. Plus, this fruit was very special; it would make them see clearly like God. But when they ate it, they were ashamed of what they saw and hid from God. Have you ever felt ashamed? What did you do? We each have choices to make—some big, some small, some easy, and some hard. The great thing is that God will always be with each of us through it.

Activity: Self Control is a great topic to discuss during this lesson of Adam and Eve.  This suspended bead activity is perfect for kids to understand to slow down, pray and make good decisions.
Prayer: Dear God, sometimes we mess up. Thank you for loving us anyway. Amen.
