Christmas Day: Rejoice! Celebrate!

“God in Christ has taken into Himself the brokenness of the human condition.
Hence, human woundedness,
brokenness, even death itself are transformed from dead ends to doorways into Life. ”

He Has Come
by Kathy Murphy

Mary treasured all these words and pondered them in her heart. And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.
Luke 2: 19-20

Christmas is the time of year that we fellowship with our family and friends.  Sharing old stories and telling new ones.  It is a time of year for caring and sharing and spreading the good cheer.

Let us not forget the real meaning behind the Christmas cheer.  It is a celebration.  We celebrate because our Savior has come, Jesus the Light of the world.

In the midst of the festive activities, fellow-shipping, sharing, and caring take to heart that on Christmas day Jesus was born.  He came to save us, to spread His light throughout the world.  During this Holiday Season and all the year, walk in the Light.
(John 8: 12) Jesus said to the people, “I am the Light of the world.  If you follow me, you will not be stumbling through the darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.

Prayer:
Light of life, you came in flesh,
born into human pain and joy,
and gave us power to be your children.
Grant us faith, O Christ, to see your presence among us,
so that all of creation may sing new songs of gladness
and walk in the way of peace. Amen.
