Prayer Inspiration

--Prayers for Week 6--

Morning Prayer

O God, early in the morning
I cry to you.
Help me to pray
And to concentrate my thoughts on you;
I do not understand your ways, but you know the way for me. I cannot do this alone.
Enable me to live now
That I may answer before you and before others. Lord,
whatever this day may bring,
Your name be praised. Amen

Mealtime 'bread' Prayer

Jesus Christ, you ate with sinners and assured us that where two or more are gathered in Your name, You are present.
...so we’re here.
And so are you.
May this meal be full of joy and peace—may it be a glimpse of your kingdom here on earth.
Through this fellowship, may you bless us all.
Amen

Evening Prayer

Sanctifying God,
In me there is darkness,
But with you there is light;
I am restless,
but with you there is peace.
In me there is bitterness,
but with you there is patience;
Replace my thoughts with yours.
Replace my will with yours.
And place me again in the stream of your grace.
Goodnight, God.
I’ll see you in the morning!

In Christ: holiness replaces sin, life replaces death, grace replaces judgment
God’s way replaces our way—and the world is transformed

God, replace our darkness with light.
Our hearts are wide open.
Replace our greed with generosity.
Our hearts are wide open.
Replace our fear with quite and stilled souls.
Our hearts are wide open.
Replace our sadness with joy.
Our hearts are wide open.
Replace our guilt with promise.
Our hearts are wide open.
Replace our sins with love.
Our hearts are wide open.
Replace our kingdoms with yours.
Our hearts are wide open. Amen.
