Third Week of Advent: Animals
This third week of Advent, we focus on animals
Do they belong in the manger scene? Why are they there? Where are they in Scripture? Are they important?

- Genesis 1:24-31 (The creation story)
- Psalm 148:7-14 (Earth and animals giving praise to God)
- Psalm 98 (All creation sits in Advent--awaiting the Lord's coming)
- Isaiah 11:1-9 (Advent hope for peace)
- Hosea 2:18 (God promises to make a covenant with animals)
- Genesis 9:1-17 (Noah's covenant involves ALL CREATION)
- Romans 8:19-23 (Hope for the renewal of ALL creation)
- Revelation 5:8-13 ("every creature" sings praise)
(next week focuses mostly on the arrival of Jesus, so we wanted to give space for the shepherds.) What do the shepherds bring to the manger scene? How do they guide and teach US?
