7th Day of Lent: Wednesday
“Then Jesus went home, and the crowd gathered again, so that they could not even eat. And when his family heard it, they went out to seize him, for they were saying, ‘He is out of his mind.’” ~Mark 3:20-21
Rejection. Frustration. Crowds pushing in with their own demands. …
These are common themes for Jesus in his journey through the Gospel of Mark.
Even before that heart-wrenching scene on the cross, Jesus is constantly misunderstood,
challenged, and abandoned. Today’s reading shows us that Jesus isn’t even able to rest in his own home. His own family tries to hold him back.

But that doesn’t stop him. Jesus presses on.
God travels deep into the heart of human rejection—all for the salvation of sins.

It breaks my heart to think of EVERYTHING Christ went through for us.
Pray:
“Lord Jesus, you faced rejection for me. Thank you.
Your love goes further and deeper
than I can understand.”
than I can understand.”
