--Prayers for Week 1--
Morning Prayer

Good morning God,
Thank you for your grace that comes fresh every morning. As I start this day and this season of lent, put a new and right spirit in me. Help keep my thoughts, words, and actions holy;  and guide me—moment by moment—to know and live in the love of Jesus.  Amen.

Mealtime 'bread' Prayer

Jesus Christ, son of God, be present at our table. In this season of lent, teach us to love all our neighbors, especially those without enough to eat and those who feel alone. Bless this fellowship and this food. Fill us up, so that we may go out and love others in your name. Amen.

Evening Prayer

Heavenly Father, I had good moments and bad moments today—and I know you were with me through all of them. Thank you. In your mercy, forgive what needs forgiving and help me to mend what needs mending… but tomorrow is another day. For now, let me to rest in your presence. Help me to be still and know that you are God, and that I am yours. Amen.

 #PictureLent Word for the Week:
Return: The Hebrew and Greek words for “repent” literally mean to turn around; to turn away from sin and evil and to turn back to where we belong: Repentance is a
return to God

Your love has come near, O God,
Our hearts return to you.
We have been so busy and scattered,
Our hearts return to you.
We have been so self-focused,
Our hearts return to you.
We have searched for life in all the wrong places,
Our hearts return to you.
“Welcome home”, you say, “and begin anew!”
Our hearts return to you. Amen.
