Day 9 of 40 (Days of Prayer)

Daily Scripture--(connect with God) today we read...

Daily Intercession-- (connect with others) today we pray for...
People in our life that might discover Christ in us. (we pray to reveal Christ to others, specifically...)

--Prayers for Week 2--
Morning Prayer

Lord prepare me for this day. Fill me with your spirit so that all I say and do would be to your glory. Open my eyes that I might see the places where  you want me to grow and I might rejoice in the places where you are already working in my life. I am yours. This day is yours. I give you praise.
Amen.

Mealtime 'bread' Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we break bread together, we are mindful of your constant, powerful presence. You created all things in the beginning. All blessings flow from you. All glory and honor is yours. And yet, you hold on to our smallness, too. You care. Truly, you are good—a good God. Thank you! Amen.

Evening Prayer

Lord, the day is done, so have mercy on me, a sinner. Help me to see and claim the broken places where I have failed, where I have sinned, where I have turned away from You.  Reveal my sins not so that I might ‘better myself’ but so that you might better me. Your grace, your forgiveness, and your renewal—these are victorious. Work in me, Lord, and give me rest. Amen.

We pray that God would be revealed: God’s power, God’s love, God’s intentions for creation and humanity—may they be revealed to us and through us.  ...God is revealing (and we are seeking)

You reveal yourself in the words of scripture.
You are the God who wants to be known.
You reveal yourself in the love of family and friends.
You are the God who wants to be known.
You reveal yourself in the beauty of creation.
You are the God who wants to be known.
You reveal yourself in the boldness of justice.
You are the God who wants to be known.
You reveal yourself in the compassion of service.
You are the God who wants to be known.
You reveal yourself in the heart of a servant.
You are the God who wants to be known.
You reveal yourself in Jesus.
You are the God who wants to be known. Open our eyes to see. Amen.
