Bulletin & Announcements for Sunday, Nov 6!

Lots of important things happening this weekend at Ocala First!  

 1 - Saturday morning our very own BSA Troup 100 will be having their Pancake Breakfast (8:00 am - 11:00 am) and Yard Sale (8:00 am - 1:00 pm).  Come on out and support our Scouting program!

 2 - Sunday we will celebrate All Saints' Sunday remembering those in our church family who have passed away in the last year.  You can see the names in the bulletin posted below. Please make a special effort to be at worship at 9:00 am or 11:00 am to surround these families with our love.

 3 - On Sunday at 10:00 am we will have Coffee Connect.  Come by the FLC and have some wonderful treats and get to know others in our church family!  Special inter-generational activities for kids and adults (aka "Messy Church") will also being happening in the FLC during that time.  

 4 - The Youth Cake Auction is happening soon (Nov 13, 6 pm - 8 pm).  Buy your tickets this Sunday!  They also are in need of cake donations.  

 5 - Make sure you read through the whole bulletin and find special invitations to get involved and serve: UMW meetings, Prayer Shawls, Cookie Ministry,  and donations needed for our Thanksgiving Turkeys for Wyomina Park Elementary School families and to support our outreach programs through our Children's ministry.

Eleventh Jesse Tree Symbol: Gideon's clay pitcher The Israelites enter the promised land, but the next generation stops worshipping God. When enemy armies attack and conquer them, the  Israelites turn back to God and cry out. God--in grace--raises up a judges (like Gideon) who leads Israel back to victory.  Gideon 6:11-16, 7:19-23 (or all of 6-8 if you're feeling ambitious)   Gideon--Peace by Karlie Harper I love the story of Gideon because it is an underdog story. In this story we see a man who is so full of doubt of himself that he does not recognize the Spirit of the Lord sitting right in front of him. For someone like me who battles doubt and anxiety, this story is particularly meaningful.  In the verses we see the Lord trying to build up Gideon’s courage by calling him a “might warrior” and telling him “Peace, do not be afraid”.
